Zliten says cement factories must comply with international standards

Zliten municipality demanded on Tuesday the management of Al-Burg Cement Factory and Zliten Cement Factory to monitor factory emissions and comply with international standards.

The head of the media department in the municipality, Ibrahim Al-Sari said in a statement to ArraedLG, they demanded the Economy and Industry Monitory to follow up with all activities that have environmental impact in coordination with the General Authority for the Environment Office and the Environmental Sanitation Office, and not to grant licenses to practice any activity, unless abided with applicable standards.

The Environmental Sanitation Office addressed last March, the Municipality of Zliten on the absence of observatories that measure the rate of emissions of factories, most of which are not complying with international standards and measurements.
