Williams: There is positive progress in the political track of dialogue.

The Acting Special Representative of the Secretary-General in Libya, Stephanie Williams, affirmed the achievement of positive progress in the political track with the launch of the work of the Legal Committee on the Political Dialogue Forum, which confirms the progress towards holding the elections as scheduled.

In her opening speech, “Williams” welcomed the implementation of the Government of National Accord’s commitment to the High Electoral Commission and its allocation of 50 million dinars to prepare for the elections in December of next year, praising the holding of elections for the municipalities of Zawiya al-Gharb and Rojban.

It is worth noting that the United Nations Support Mission in Libya announced on the 17th of December the formation of a legal committee for the Political Dialogue Forum, to oversee the preparation of arrangements for elections next year.
