We are ready to hold accountable those who hinder truce in Tripoli, says EU

The European Union mission in Libya said on Thursday it was ready to hold accountable anyone obstructing the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in Tripoli or threatening sovereign institutions that work for all Libyans.

In a statement on its official page, the mission called on all Libyan parties to accede to this agreement, abide by it, and work in good faith to consolidate it, considering the “rocket attacks” on Mitiga International Airport and “provocative statements” in violation of international law.

The mission added that it was time to end the “encroachment” of Libyan resources and the atmosphere of fear and to ensure the basic services and individual freedoms that the Libyan people aspire to.

The head of the United Nations mission to Libya, Ghassan Salame said on Tuesday that the international community is ready to hold accountable any party that violates the truce in Tripoli.
