US Commander: Things Are Possible For A Close Return For A Diplomatic Mission In Libya

Colonel Adam Chalkley, commander of the African Land Crisis Response Task Force, said “The situation in Libya is improving on the ground,” indicating that the US diplomatic mission is likely to return to the country soon.

In a statement that was published on a US military news website, on Friday, Chalkley stated that the signs of recent improvements in the landscape and the operational environment in Libya had inspired a diplomatic mission to be resurrected in the near future.

Chalkley said that there was a great desire to send back the presence of US diplomat, noting that the circumstances seem favorable, with the presence of other things on the diplomatic front, and the adoption of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Last November, the United States announced the return of former ambassador Peter Bodde to work as Libya’s foreign office in Tunis.
