
The United Nations considered on Wednesday, the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Libya and Turkey on maritime jurisdiction, a matter related to the sovereignty of member states, their sovereign rights and jurisdiction over their marine areas.
The deputy spokesman for the United Nations Secretary General, Farhan Haq, said that the United Nations Secretariat does not take a stance regarding issues related to the sovereignty of member states and their sovereign rights over their marine areas, according to the Anatolia News Agency.
It is worth noting that Turkish President Rejep Tayyip Erdogan and President of the Presidential Council, Fayez Asarraj, signed in Istanbul on November 27, two Security and Maritime memorandums of understanding.
