UN mission to Libya calls for immediate extradition of criminals

The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) called for the handover of special forces commander in Haftar forces, Mahmoud Al-Werfalli to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

The UNSMIL expressed, on its Twitter account, its deep condemnation of what it described as brutal executions that took place, on Wednesday in Benghazi, confirming that it had documented at least five summary executions committed or ordered by Al-Werfalli in 2017.

The Mission assumed full criminal responsibility to those who commit summary executions, in accordance with international criminal law.

On Wednesday, Al-Werfalli appeared in a videotape executing a number of people in front of the Al-Radwan mosque in Benghazi.
