The US Chargé d’Affairs visits Misurata and appreciates its role in combating terrorism

The US Charge d’Affaires, Joshua Harris, stressed during his visit to Misurata the need for foreign forces and mercenaries to leave Libya, valuing the city’s role in combating terrorism.

“Harris” discussed with the Minister of the Interior, Fathi Bashagha , on Monday, the re-pumping of oil, and the Libyan efforts to demobilize the militias, disarm and re-integrate them, according to the official page of the American embassy.

Harris discussed with Bashagha efforts to reduce the military escalation in Sirte and Al-Jufra, noting that his country is ready to work with “a comprehensive group of Libyan personalities from all parts of the country, who reject foreign interference.”

It is worth noting that the United States of America confirmed on the 12th of this July that those who cling to the military escalation and undermine the Libyan economy will face isolation and the risk of sanctions, according to a statement of the American embassy in Libya.
