US Secretary of State “Mike Pompeo” and German “Haikou Maas” expressed their concern about violations of Security Council resolutions regarding the arms embargo, and the involvement of mercenaries in the “armed conflict in Libya”.
US State Department spokesperson Morgan Ortagos said onFriday that Pompeo and Mas discussed international efforts to support Salama in his mission to cease fire in Libya and return to the political process.
“Morgan” stated that many media reports confirm the presence of Russian security companies, led by “Wagner”, fighting for Hifter.
It is worth noting that the US State Department, in a statement issued last November, called for Hifter to stop his offensive on the capital, which is controlled by the internationally recognized government, warning of Russian intervention in Libya.
