
On Monday, the UN mission in Libya expressed its thanks to the head of the Libyan Auditing Bureau, Khaled Shakshak, and that it would coordinate closely with him during the international financial auditing process of the two branches of the Central Bank.
The mission added, through its official page, that it expects the Auditing Bureau to perform the recommended follow-up or focused financial audits as a result of the international financial auditing of the two central branches.
Acting Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Stephanie Williams, said that the necessary measures to initiate the international financial auditing of the two branches of the Central Bank of Libya have been completed.
The mission considered the international financial auditing process a very important step towards enhancing transparency in the Libyan financial system and creating the conditions necessary for the eventual unification of the Central Bank of Libya.
The mission also thanked the President of the Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, the central bank governors, Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir, Ali Al-Hibri, and the Acting Attorney General Al-Siddiq Alsoor.
