The Security Council demands an immediate cessation of hostilities, and a guarantee of the delivery of humanitarian aid in Libya.

The Security Council called for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Libya and for ensuring unimpeded access to humanitarian aid throughout the country.

In a statement issued Thursday, reported by the Turkish News Agency, Anatolia, the Council called on all member states to comply with the arms embargo to Libya, reiterating its strong commitment to the sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and national unity of Libya.

The statement stressed the importance of the role of the United Nations in facilitating a comprehensive political process in Libya, expressing concern of the potential impact of the proliferation of Corona in the country, in light of the escalation of attacks.

It is worth noting that Haftar militias, despite their repeated announcements to stop the fighting, the last of which has been a few days ago ,to concentrate all efforts to combat the Corona virus, but they have continued to breach that by bombing neighborhoods and residential areas in Tripoli, resulting in the death and injury of many innocent civilians.
