Siala: We confirmed to Guterres suspending our participation in Geneva until the end of the aggression and progress in the military dialogue.

In a letter addressed to the Secretary-General of the UN, “Antonio Guterres,” Parliament Chairman Hammouda Siala stressed the suspension of the parliament’s participation in the political dialogue until the achievement of several points, the first of which was the cessation of the aggression against Tripoli, and the presence of concrete results in the military track.

In the letter, Siala stressed the parliament’s rejection of the list issued by a member of the House of Representatives, Aqila Saleh, to include members who are not enrolled in the council held in Tripoli, stressing that he will not embark on the political track before announcing the agenda of the dialogue, the decision-making mechanism, and informing the participants about it.

Siala insisted on the necessity to include the constitutional process in the agenda of the dialogue and the timeframe for moving from the interim phase to the permanent stage, calling for ending the closure of oil as a lifeline for all Libyans, opening a special path for equity and reconciliation, and addressing the issues of the displaced from all Libyan cities before participating in the dialogue.

It is worth noting that the Joint Military Committee delegation “5 + 5” confirmed, on Tuesday, that the talks with the UN mission on the ceasefire are based on one principle, which is the withdrawal of the aggressor from the capital to before the fourth of last April, and the return of the displaced and normalcy to the south Tripoli.
