Security Council: Friday votes on a resolution urging all foreign forces and mercenaries to leave Libya.

On Friday, the UN Security Council will vote on a draft resolution urging all foreign forces and mercenaries to leave Libya, and the deployment of a UN observer team to monitor the ceasefire.

According to the American “Washington Post”, it is expected to announce the results of the vote on the proposed resolution submitted by Britain, on the departure of foreign troops and mercenaries from Libya, and the resolution will authorize a team from the United Nations to monitor the ceasefire agreement signed last October.

The newspaper stated that the international observers will start their work in Sirte, once all the requirements for the permanent presence of the team are met, including the security, logistical, medical and operational aspects.

It is worth noting that the Secretary-General of the United Nations suggested in his letter transmitted to the Security Council on April 7 that the UN team to monitor the ceasefire in Libya would consist of 60 observers.
