Salame: The Solution For Libya Is Political And The UN Mission Is Not A Peacekeeping Force

The United Nations envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame, stated that the mission is not a peacekeeping force, has no military presence, and is content only with the political process.

In a media statement, Salame said that there is no solution for Libya but a political one, so the mission seeks all its potential to communicate with all political parties in the country

Salame explained that the position of the United Nations and the Mission in Libya is consistent with the fight against terrorism and supports it and seeks to cooperate with all the Libyan parties to combat this “serious scourge.” But the other important thing for the United Nations and the mission is to protect civilians and not endanger them and their properties.
