Pompeo: Supplying weapons to Libya is a violation of the United Nations resolutions.

On Friday, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo expressed his hope that countries participating in military activities in Libya would stop supplying weapons to them.

Pompeo confirmed, in an interview with the Italian newspaper, La Rebupplica, that supplying weapons to Libya is a violation of the United Nations resolutions, adding that the United States firmly believes that the intervention of a third party in Libya will only aggravate the situation.

Pompeo called on the intervening countries in Libya to retreat and allow the Libyans to solve their crisis on their own, ”adding that his country has for years been calling for a solution mediated by the United Nations in order to create a situation on the ground that allows the Libyan people to face every challenge, according to his description.

It is worth noting that the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo: said Wednesday, that the United States has made enormous diplomatic efforts to try to solve the situation in Libya, and that Washington is optimistic about the improvement of the situation on the ground in Libya.
