Pompeo confirms from the UAE non-escalation and a permanent ceasefire in Libya

Reuters reported, Wednesday, that US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo assured UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed, “not to escalate and reach a permanent ceasefire in Libya.”

The agency said that Pompeo discussed with bin Zayed the conflict in Libya during a short visit he made to the UAE today, Wednesday.

It is worth noting that the US State Department welcomed the statement of the President of the Presidency Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj and the Speaker of the Tobruk House of Representatives, Aqeela Saleh, issued by them last Friday, which calls for a complete cease-fire in Libya.
