NOC and Sonatrach sign a joint study

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) and Sonatrach Company, an Algerian government-owned company, signed a joint reservoir study of the Libyan Al-Wafa Gas Field and Algerian Al Rar Gas Field, on Monday.

The contract, signed in Algiers, updates the previous joint study conducted in 2008, which comes as a joint venture between the NOC and Sonatrach for their development programs.

Al-Wafa field, operated by Mellita Oil & Gas, started production in 2004. It supplies gas to Al Ruwais Power Plant in Baten Aljabal district and the costal system for providing the power plants with natural gas.
