NCHRL says Haftar forces responsible for the safety of “Al-Jiyash”

The National Commission for Human Rights in Libya (NCHRL) condemned the arbitrary and unlawful detention of human rights activist Rabie Al-Jiyash by Haftar forces in Benghazi.

In a statement issued on Monday, the NCHRL called on the commander of Al-Saiqq forces Wanis Bokhamada, the Benghazi security directorate chief and the mayor of Benghazi to intervene immediately, and release Al-Jiaysh,  adding that Al-Karama (Dignity) operations room and the joint security room in Benghazi are responsible for Al-Jaysh’s, who is arbitrarily detained, life and safety.

Human rights activist Rabie Al-Jiyash was detained on the 27th of December 2017, in front of the Children’s Theater in Benghazi.
