NATO: The Russian military presence in Libya is worrying, and we are watching it closely.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said that the alliance is closely monitoring the Russian presence in Libya and other areas of the continent of Africa, indicating their concern about the Russian military presence in these areas.

Stoltenberg stressed, during a press conference in Brussels after his meeting with the Mauritanian President, Mohamed wild Al-Ghazwani, the alliance’s readiness to provide support to Libya in the field of air defense and the establishment of security institutions, in case political and security conditions permit.

Stoltenberg welcomed the ceasefire agreement announced in Libya last October, calling on all parties in Libya to support the efforts of the Berlin Conference and the United Nations, in order to find a political solution to the existing crisis in the country.

It is worth noting that the Secretary-General of “NATO” Jens Stoltenberg, expressed the alliance’s concern last June about the “increasing Russian role” in the Mediterranean region, especially in Libya.
