A member of the Supreme Council of the State Mohammad Ma’zzab, said that what the MP Abdul Salam Nassia said about the holding of elections at the end of next year has nothing to do with any agreements between the parties in Libya.
In a statement to the Russian news agency Sputnik, Ma’zzzab said that the date of the elections would be decided during the upcoming general conference in early 2019. The arrangements currently being made would depend on the consensus at the meeting.
In a statement to Sputnik, MP Abdul Salam Nassia said that in case the draft constitution was voted upon with “Yes”, the presidential and parliamentary elections would be held no later than the end of next year 2019. If it comes to “no”, then the legal rule must be worked on.
