Lavrov: The joint efforts between Moscow and Ankara succeeded in reaching the ceasefire and the resumption of oil.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Monday that joint efforts between Moscow and Ankara had succeeded in a ceasefire in Libya and the resumption of oil.

Lavrov added, according to the Russian Sputnik Agency, that Moscow and Ankara are continuing to work to bring closer the stances of the two parties of the conflict in Libya to start the political settlement process, pointing out to bring negotiating positions closer to launching political transformations based on UN Security Council resolutions and the outcomes of the Berlin Conference.

The Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister, Sadat Onal and his Russian counterpart, Mikhail Bogdanov, the special envoy of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Middle East and Africa, stressed last Thursday the importance of a political solution to the Libyan crisis, in accordance with the outcomes of the Berlin Conference adopted by the Security Council.

It is worth noting that the two parties of the Joint Military Committee 5 +5 signed, on Friday, an agreement providing for a cease-fire, removing mercenaries within 90 days, opening land and air crossings, restructuring the Petroleum Facilities Guard and exchanging detainees and prisoners.
