Lavrov: Russia has not gambled on either side in Libya.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov affirmed on Thursday that his country has not gambled on any party to the Libyan conflict, but was and is still in contact with all of these parties in order to help them reach a settlement.

Lavrov added, during a press conference held with the Algerian Foreign Minister Sabri Boqadoum in the Russian capital, Moscow, the need for the neighboring countries to engage in any negotiations on Libya.

For his part, Boqadoum said that he agreed with Lavrov to establish a mechanism for consultation and coordination on Libya to contribute to finding a solution to the Libyan crisis, reiterating that Algeria remains at the same distance from all Libyan parties, and is working to remove any reasons that may lead to a military escalation in Libya.

It is worth noting that Russia and Turkey agreed on Wednesday to consider establishing a joint working group between the two countries on Libya, and to hold consultations in the Russian capital Moscow soon.
