Jordanian MP calls on his country to clarify its relationship with Hifter militias.

The head of the Parliamentary Reform Bloc in the Jordanian parliament, Abdullah Al-Akayleh, questioned on Tuesday the relationship between his government and the militia leader Khalifa Hifter, and the authenticity of the news confirming Jordan’s involvement in supplying these militias with weapons.

“Al-Akayleh” added, in an official statement to the bloc, asking about the existence of any official Jordanian contacts with the internationally recognized Libyan government, in addition to the nature of the relationship between the Jordanian government and the military forces and militias led by Khalifa Hifter in Libya, he said.

Al-Akayleh touched on the fact that Jordan trained Khalifa Hifter militias in Libya and Jordan, calling for revealing the facts about the accusation of United Nations reports Jordan of violating the arms embargo and providing military support to Hifter militias.

It is worth noting that the fact-finding committee of the Security Council on Libya confirmed Jordan’s involvement in supporting Hifter by training his militias and providing him with weapons.
