In a joint statement with his Greek and Cypriot counterparts, Prime Minister of Israel “Benjamin Netanyahu” said that the Turkish bill allowing the deployment of forces in Libya represents a dangerous escalation and seriously threatens stability in the region.
The joint statement, which was published on Thursday night, considered the Turkish decision a flagrant violation of the UN Security Council’s decision to impose an arms embargo in Libya, as it seriously undermines the efforts of the international community to find a peaceful and political solution to the Libyan conflict, according to Reuters news agency.
It is worth noting that the Turkish parliament approved by 325 to 184 votes on a draft law that allows sending troops to Libya, within the framework of the security and maritime understanding signed between the two countries in November of last year, in a measure that has angered Greece, Israel, Egypt and Cyprus.
