Ischler: The dispatch of Turkish forces to Libya came at the request of the legitimate government.

The Turkish envoy to Libya, Amrullah Ichler, said on Friday, that his country sending forces to Libya is “not an intervention” as some claim, because the legitimate government is the one who requested this according to an agreement signed between the two countries.

Ishler added, according to what was reported by the Turkish “Anatolia” agency, that Turkey supports the United Nations efforts in solving the Libyan crisis, stressing that the GNA is the only legitimate party in Libya, as stipulated in the Skhirat political agreement, and Turkey is in contact with this government.

Eichler stressed that Khalifa Hifter chose a military solution by attacking Tripoli, pointing out that some countries claiming to be committed to democracy have expressed a hypocritical stance in this regard.

Ischler pointed out that his country is the only country that has responded to the GNA’s call to 5 countries to confront terrorism and repel aggression.

The Turkish envoy emphasized that Turkey stands by the political solution in Libya, and rejects a military solution and a dictatorial regime, and that whoever thinks like HIftEr will not have a future in Libya, he said.

It is worth noting that the countries of Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain who support the military coup in Libya led by Hifter condemned, on Friday, the authorization of the Turkish parliament to send military forces to Libya.
