HOR member rejects HNEC proposal about Election Law

House of Representatives (HOR), Jibril Ohida rejected on Wednesday the proposal submitted by the High National Elections Commission (HNEC) on the draft of an election law of a new parliament.

In a statement to ArraedLG, Ohida said that entering into a new transitional phase is like entering Libya in a new “labyrinth.”

Ohida confirmed that any new elections without a constitution would further divide Libya.

The Election Commission submitted a proposal to draft a law to elect a new parliament, granting 80% of seats to political entities, and 20% of independent individuals.
