Goueili: The base of the Alwittia was a source of sedition, vandalism, and bringing mercenaries and weapons.

The commander of the joint operations room, Major General Osama Goueili, said on Tuesday that the Alwittia air base was a source of discord and sabotage, as it is used as a place to assemble armed gangs from various sides and cities.

Goueili added, in press statements reported by the Anatolia News Agency, that the liberation of Base proved the failure of the logic of Khalifa Haftar’s militias, noting that all cities and regions of the Libyan West are affiliated with the GNA, although legitimacy is not based on controlling the territories, but legitimacy is the internationally recognized legitimacy and the majority of the people are convinced by it, he said.

It is worth noting that the Libyan army took control, on Monday morning, of the Alwittia air base, after the militia of Haftar fled from it, and acquired several armed vehicles and weapons, and a Russian air defense system of the type “Pantsir”.
