German Foreign Ministry: We will hold meetings with “Putin” to prevent Libya from turning into “another Syria”.

German Foreign Minister “Haiku Maas” said on Friday that it is necessary to hold a meeting with Russian President “Vladimir Putin” to discuss the conflict in Libya to prevent it becoming “a second Syria.”

“Maas” told German RTL radio that his country has developed a document in which everyone is committed to a ceasefire and an arms embargo followed by a political process under the auspices of the United Nations.

The German government announced, on Friday, that Chancellor “Angela Merkel” will meet Russian President “Vladimir Putin” on Saturday to discuss several regional issues, especially the Libyan dossier.
