Former Italian Navy Chief of Staff: Haftar is a lame horse that Italy abandoned, and he took revenge by kidnapping fishermen.

The former Italian Navy Chief of Staff, Admiral Giuseppe de Giorgi, said Saturday that the kidnapping of the Italian fishermen was retaliation for Haftar from Italy and Foreign Minister Luigi de Maio.

In a statement posted on Imolaoggi.it, de Giorgi added that revenge was coming; Because “de Maio” ignored Haftar after his defeat in Tripoli, and his chaotic path in Cyrenaica.

And “de Giorgi” explained that after Italy abandoned the President of the Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, it tried to ride Haftar’s carriage when he appeared successful, and then tried to restore the relationship with Al-Sarraj when Haftar looked like a lame horse “after his defeat, as he put it.

It is worth noting that, last Friday, Haftar’s militia released 18 Italian fishermen, about 3 months after their arrest.
