The ambassadors of five European countries presented their credentials to Prime Minister Fayez Al-Sarraj on Sunday.
The five diplomats included the ambassador to the United Kingdom Peter Millett, along with his counterparts, Brigitte Curmi ambassador of France, Eric Strating ambassador for the Netherlands, Christian Buck ambassador of German and Bettina Muscheidt the European Union’s ambassador to Libya.
The representatives re-emphasized Britain, France, Germany, the Netherlands and the EU’s commitment to the Libyan Political Agreement and support for the establishment of peace and security in Libya, said Martin Kobler, the UN’s special envoy to Libya, on Twitter on Monday.
A number embassies closed their doors after violent clashes got out of control in the Libyan capital in 2014. Most of the embassies that closed began operating out of their respective embassies in Tunisia.
