Erdogan: The sovereignty of Libya is one of our priorities

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on the international community to provide “sincere support” to Libya so that the elections are held on the date scheduled for December 24th.

Erdogan added – during a press conference with the head of the national unity government, Abdul Hamid Dbaiba – Monday, that Turkey will continue to support the Libyan national unity government, as it did with previous legitimate governments, and that the sovereignty of Libya is one of his country’s priorities.

The Turkish president revealed that his country will deliver 150,000 doses of the Corona vaccine to Libya, starting from Tuesday.

Erdogan confirmed that Turkey will provide various support for the reconstruction in Libya, and the return of Turkish companies to Libya was discussed, indicating that it would open its consulate in Benghazi when conditions are suitable.

It is worth noting that the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Dbaiba, accompanied by a number of his cabinet ministers, arrived on Sunday in Turkey to discuss cooperation between the two countries.
