Çavuşoğlu: Our presence in Libya is legal under the military cooperation agreement.

Turkish Foreign Minister “Mevlut Çavuşoğlu” said, Tuesday, that our presence in Libya is legal and legitimate, and it is based on the military cooperation agreement signed with Libya, which enabled us to provide military and training advice to the Libyans.

Çavuşoğlu added in a press conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Ankara that Haftar showed a different will to that, and attacked Tripoli, noting that the situation is balanced on the field thanks to the support provided by Turkey to the legitimate government in accordance with the agreement with it.

Çavuşoğlu emphasized that we never went to Libya for the sake of Turkey’s interests only , but rather in order to develop our relations in accordance with the concept of peace and stability in Libya and mutual profit, according to the Turkish Anatolia.

It is worth noting that the Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlut Çavuşoğlu, said in press statements today, Tuesday, that Libya avoided chaos after Turkey responded to the call of the internationally recognized Government of National Accord, in the face of Haftar and his supporters, calling for the ceasefire to be protected.
