Amid rumors of failure of the dialogue, “Williams” and members of the forum confirm its continuation.

Many of the spoilers of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum promoted the failure of the dialogue rounds after the Tuesday round, which was held via video call, ended without reaching consensus on the mechanism for selecting the executive authority, and this was denied by the mission and the parties participating in the dialogue sessions.

Williams affirms continuity

The UN envoy to Libya, “Stephanie Williams,” revealed the continuation of the political process to choose the mechanism of the executive authority, and that they are advancing on the path of settlement and there is no way back.

“Williams” indicated that she intends to form an advisory committee of members to provide assistance, hoping to bring the views of the interlocutors closer, noting that expectations for the success of the dialogue are high at the international level.

Promotion reflects plans

A member of the Libyan Dialogue Forum Committee, Al Sayda Al-Yaqoubi, said that the news circulating about the “restoration of the current government” was nothing but a rumor and unfounded news. Because “beating the dead is forbidden,” according to her description.

Al-Yaqoubi added on its official page that the spoilers’ rumor of the failure of the dialogue is a translation of their plan only, pointing out that the UN envoy to Libya, Stephanie Williams, announced the need to find an urgent solution in the mechanism for choosing the government or forming an advisory committee.

Confirm continuity

For his part, a member of the Dialogue Committee, Abdulrazzaq Al-Aradi, affirmed that the UN mission continues to search for a mechanism to choose the executive authority that will deal with the issue of the elections, pointing out that the survival of the current Presidential Council and its government until the upcoming elections is “unfounded.”

Al-Aradi explained that it was agreed during today’s session to set December 21 as the date for the start of the next preliminary stage, pointing out that the path related to the elections set on December 24 next year had opened, and hopes for holding them on time increased with this historic achievement.

Al-Aradi indicated that the mission will form an advisory committee to reach the ratio on the basis of which the comparison between the second and third options will be made in choosing the executive authority.
