The head of the management Council of Tarhuna Municipality, Mohamed Alkisher, said in a statement to Arraed Tuesday, that the ministerial committee formed by PM Dbaiba to follow up the issue of mass graves in Tarhuna and the service sector in the city has completed its work and handed over all the information to the government, but unfortunately the PM has not yet taken an interest in the matter.
Alkisher explained that the Search and Identification of Missing Persons Authority has been inactive for a while, and there are about 15 reports of new mass grave sites, pointing out that the government is dealing with the Tarhuna file slowly, calling on it to move quickly.
Alkisher indicated that the families of Tarhuna victims are demanding that those involved in the crimes be brought to the city and prosecuted.
In a related context, “Alkisher” stated that the municipality lacks the least capabilities and does not even have an isolation center, despite repeated promises by the Ministry of Health, pointing out that the service aspect that directly serves the citizen is almost non-existent.
It is worth noting that the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbaiba, pledged, during his visit to Tarhuna, to achieve justice for the families of the victims of mass graves, left by the Al-Kani gang affiliated with Haftar’s militias, and to establish a competent court to look into these crimes.
