Algeria has project to produce electricity in Libya

Algeria’s Sonlagaz Group director-general, Mohamed Arkab said Algeria and Libya have a partnership venture to produce electricity in Libya.

Arkab explained in response to a question about Sonelgaz’s activities in Libya, according to Akhbar Al-Youm newspaper, the project focuses on the maintenance of electrical equipment, pointing out that Algeria is in the process of studying the possibility of connecting high-pressure electric lines between Algeria and Libya through Tunisia to provide Libya with electricity.

Libya is facing a significant shortage in the production and distribution of electricity, causing the burden of loading long hours a day in many areas.
