The commander of the joint operations room, Major General Osama Ajwaili, said that they might be forced to carry out military operations in the cities of the western region if they became cities under the de facto situation as a city of Tarhuna.
Ajwaili added, in his statements marking the one-year anniversary of the aggression, on Wednesday, that they are counting on citizens in the cities of the western region to join hands and expel the Haftar gangs, and spare their cities the effects of military operations.
Ajwaili explained that the goal of Operation “Peace Storm” was to discourage and punish Haftar for his crimes, noting that Alwittiya base was neutralized after its bombing and after the military operation that targeted it.
Ajwaili stressed that there is no dialogue with those who bomb civilians and continue to recruit mercenaries, noting that more than 80% of the groups fighting with Haftar are foreigners, hoping that the people of the eastern region will not stand handcuffed while the country is being destroyed in front of them.
Ajwaili considered to shut down of oil by Haftar’s supporters is evidence of his failure that made him bargain with the oil paper and the bombing of civilians and facilities, which is an unjust crime that would not be justified for those who closed it now or in the past.
