African Union calls for the opening of an investigation into allegations of slave trade in Libya

President of the Republic of Guinea-Conakry and chair of the African Union, Alpha Conde, called on the Libyan authorities to investigate the allegations of slave markets in Libya.

Conde called for an “urgent” investigation and judicial action if these reports prove true; adding that the African Union will use all available powers to prevent these markets- as reposted by AFP Press.
