A High-Level UN Delegation Heads To Libya To Support Stability

A high-level United Nations delegation will arrive in Tripoli this week to confirm UN support for national and regional efforts to achieve a peaceful transition in Libya, news sources reported Tuesday.

On its website, the Relief Network reported  that the Director of the UNDP Regional Office for the Arab States, Murad Wahba, and the Director of the United Nations Development Program’s Office for Crisis, Asako Okai, and the Deputy United Nations Relief Coordinator, Ursula Mueller, will visit Libya and Tunisia to support urgent actions to help and stabilize Libya.

The UN Assistant Secretary-General will meet high-level government officials and donors in Libya and Tunisia to promote synergies in development, recovery and stability projects, as the network reported, adding that a press conference will be held next Friday at the UNDP office in Tunis.
